AGEINCO Discusses the Challenges Facing Galician Engineering in the Regional Management of the Coastline with the Regional Minister for the Environment

Vigo, 28 October 2025

The Cluster Association of Engineering, Consultancy and Technology Services Companies of Galicia (AGEINCO) held a new edition of its AGEINCO Forum this morning. This professional meeting and networking event featured the participation of the Regional Minister for the Environment and Climate Change, Ángeles Vázquez Mejuto, and the Director-General for Renewable Energy and Climate Change, Paula María Uría Traba.

The meeting, held at the NH Collection Vigo Hotel, brought together representatives from the business community and the regional government to analyse the challenges and opportunities arising for the Galician engineering sector following the Xunta de Galicia’s assumption of regional powers over the Galician coastline.

The session addressed key issues related to the management of the maritime-terrestrial public domain, the protection of ecosystems and biodiversity, the restoration of coastal heritage, and strategies linked to the blue economy and environmental sustainability.

The Regional Minister highlighted the Galician Government’s commitment to a responsible, sustainable and participatory management model that promotes the conservation of the coastal environment and enhances the economic and technological opportunities associated with its development.

AGEINCO, for its part, emphasised the need to strengthen public-private collaboration mechanisms and to promote public procurement based on quality, innovation and efficiency as a key element in ensuring sustainable infrastructure and generating value throughout the region.

“Galicia has a strong network of engineering and consultancy companies with talent, technical expertise and an innovative outlook. Our mission is to place this potential at the service of the balanced and sustainable development of the coastline,” said the President of AGEINCO.

The AGEINCO Forum is therefore consolidating its position as an established meeting point for public authorities, companies and experts, aimed at promoting knowledge exchange and the sector’s active participation in Galicia’s main strategic challenges.
