AGEINCO Participates in TECNIBERIA’s General Assembly and Supports the Transition in Its Presidency

16 June 2026

The association expressed its appreciation to Joan Franco for his leadership and contribution during his tenure as President of TECNIBERIA and extended its congratulations to Rosalía Gil-Albarellos as she begins a new chapter at the helm of the organisation.

AGEINCO took part in TECNIBERIA’s Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly, held on 16 June 2026 at the headquarters of the Spanish Association of Civil Engineers (Colegio de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos) in Madrid.

The event brought together companies, associations, and professionals from the engineering, consultancy, and technology services sectors. It provided an opportunity to review TECNIBERIA’s activities during 2025, present its main priorities for 2026, and discuss some of the key challenges currently facing the industry.

The Assembly also served as a platform to strengthen relationships between business organisations and to exchange experiences, concerns, and proposals aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and recognition of Spain’s private engineering sector.

A General Assembly Marked by a Change in Leadership

One of the most significant moments of the day was the Extraordinary General Assembly, during which the appointment of Rosalía Gil-Albarellos as the new President of TECNIBERIA was formally ratified, succeeding Joan Franco in leading the organisation.

Rosalía Gil-Albarellos becomes the first woman to chair TECNIBERIA in its 62-year history, opening a new chapter for the organisation representing Spain’s engineering, consultancy, and technology services companies.

AGEINCO would like to extend its warmest congratulations to the new President and wish her every success in this important responsibility. Her extensive professional experience and deep knowledge of the sector will be invaluable in advancing the representation and defence of engineering companies and in addressing the significant challenges ahead.

Among the priorities identified for this new stage are safeguarding the economic viability of companies, strengthening the sector’s presence in decision-making forums, attracting and retaining talent, and harnessing artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to create greater value.

Improving public procurement processes will also remain a key area of focus. The sector has consistently advocated for procurement procedures that properly recognise technical expertise, quality, specialisation, and innovation capacity, ensuring that price is not the sole determining factor in contract awards.

Engineering plays a fundamental role in infrastructure modernisation, the energy transition, sustainability, water management, and digital transformation. It is therefore essential to ensure conditions that allow companies to continue innovating, competing in national and international markets, and providing attractive career opportunities capable of drawing new generations into the profession.

Recognition of Joan Franco’s Leadership

AGEINCO would also like to express its sincere appreciation to Joan Franco for the work carried out during his presidency of TECNIBERIA, as well as for his openness, leadership, and ongoing commitment to Spain’s private engineering sector.

Under his leadership, TECNIBERIA strengthened its role as the voice of the sector, expanded its engagement with public and private institutions, and promoted closer collaboration with other associations and business organisations.

Progress was also made in defending the interests of member companies, promoting Spanish engineering, and strengthening an organisation that represents companies of different sizes and specialisations.

AGEINCO particularly appreciates his willingness to collaborate, share objectives, and help build common spaces for representation. It has been a genuine pleasure to work together on projects, events, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the recognition of the sector.

AGEINCO’s Participation

AGEINCO was represented at the Assembly by Javier Alonso Seoane, President of the Cluster, and Marta Isabel Gallego Ramos, Secretary General of both AGEINCO and CÍES.

During the event, they had the opportunity to meet with leading professionals and representatives from across the sector, including Joan Franco, Rosalía Gil-Albarellos, Tomás Gil Fierro, Francisco José Caso García, Elizabeth Molina Ixta, Alberto Martínez Álvarez, and Nieves Cristóbal Caño.

AGEINCO’s participation in the Assembly helped strengthen institutional relationships and advance cooperation among the organisations representing Spain’s engineering, consultancy, and technology services companies.

This collaboration is particularly important at a time when the sector faces major challenges related to digital transformation, artificial intelligence, sustainability, public procurement, internationalisation, business competitiveness, and the shortage of qualified professionals.

Working Together to Strengthen the Sector

TECNIBERIA represents nearly one hundred privately owned Spanish engineering companies, employing more than 70,000 professionals and carrying out activities of great importance for Spain’s economy, innovation capacity, and international presence.

AGEINCO will continue working alongside TECNIBERIA to defend the interests of member companies, strengthen cooperation between organisations, and communicate the sector’s needs and proposals to public administrations.

The association will also continue highlighting the strategic contribution of engineering, consultancy, and technology services to economic and social development, infrastructure improvement, and the construction of a more innovative, sustainable, and competitive future.

Congratulations, Rosalía, on the beginning of this new chapter, and thank you, Joan, for your dedication and leadership at TECNIBERIA.
