On 13 May, AGEINCO hosted the “Sustainability in Sports Facilities” Forum at the headquarters of the Confederation of Employers of Pontevedra (CEP) in Vigo. The event was organised in collaboration with the Galician Cluster of the Sports and Wellness Industry (Clúster Galego da Industria do Deporte e o Benestar).
The forum brought together professionals and organisations from the fields of engineering, sports management, energy efficiency, and sustainability, with the aim of sharing experiences, analysing challenges, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
The event was officially opened by Pedro Iglesias, President of the Galician Cluster of the Sports and Wellness Industry, and Javier Alonso, President of AGEINCO. Both highlighted the importance of fostering cooperation between sectors to address the current challenges facing sports facilities.
During the forum, Daniel Prieto, CEO of Soltec Ingenieros, presented the main conclusions of the “Libro Branco da Eficiencia Enerxética en Centros Deportivos”, a document focused on improving efficiency, optimising resources, and supporting the transition towards more sustainable management models.

The event continued with a roundtable discussion on sustainability in sports facilities, featuring Jesús Irisarri from CELTA 360, Carlos Cao from RC Celta de Vigo, and Julio Calderón from Calderón & Asociados Turf Managers.
The speakers shared different perspectives and experiences regarding efficient management, maintenance, innovation, and sustainability within the sports sector.
