AGEINCO and the University of A Coruña sign a landmark agreement to promote student internships in companies

17 June 2026

The agreement establishes a direct pathway between University of A Coruña students and AGEINCO member companies operating in the fields of engineering, consultancy, innovation, and technology services.

A Coruña, 16 June 2026. The University of A Coruña (UDC) and the Galician Cluster Association of Engineering, Consultancy and Technology Services Companies (AGEINCO) have signed a collaboration agreement to promote external academic internships for university students within the companies that form part of the cluster.

This is the first agreement of its kind signed by the University of A Coruña with a business cluster or sectoral business association. The initiative creates a stable framework for cooperation between the university and a broad network of companies specialising in engineering, consultancy, innovation, and technology services.

The agreement will bring university talent closer to highly specialised professional environments, enabling students to complement their academic education, develop professional skills, and gain first-hand insight into the activities and current needs of the sector.

A Direct Connection Between the University and Industry

The collaboration establishes a coordinated channel for identifying and promoting internship opportunities available within AGEINCO member companies.

The University of A Coruña will act as a link with its faculties, schools, and academic centres, promoting available internship placements and communicating the required profiles to students.

AGEINCO, in turn, will serve as the point of contact for its member companies, coordinating the identification of professional needs, internship opportunities, and the monitoring of training activities carried out during the placements.

This model will streamline collaboration between the university and companies, align training opportunities with real industry needs, and facilitate the structured integration of students into professional environments.

New Opportunities for Students and Member Companies

For UDC students, the agreement represents an opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired during their studies to real projects and professional situations.

The internships will provide insight into the operation of specialised companies, enable participation in multidisciplinary teams, and support the development of technical and professional skills in strategic sectors for Galicia.

For AGEINCO member companies, the agreement creates a new opportunity to actively contribute to the training of future professionals, identify specialised talent, and introduce students to the various activities and career opportunities available within the sector.

The initiative will therefore contribute to improving employability, facilitating talent acquisition, and supporting generational renewal within Galicia’s engineering, consultancy, and technology services companies.

A Collaboration That Goes Beyond Internships

The agreement also includes cooperation between AGEINCO and the University of A Coruña in the organisation and promotion of the Annual Forum on Engineering and Architecture in Galicia.

In addition, both organisations may jointly organise conferences, networking events, and other activities of interest to the academic and business communities, encouraging participation from students, academic and research staff, and member companies.

These initiatives will create new opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and technology transfer between the university and Galicia’s productive sectors.

Commitment to Employability and Talent Retention in Galicia

The signing of this agreement represents another important step in AGEINCO’s commitment to talent development, education, and strengthening the sector.

The collaboration will help align university education with the real needs of businesses, facilitate connections between students and future employers, and contribute to ensuring that professionals trained in Galicia can develop their careers within the region.

Through this agreement, AGEINCO strengthens its position as a gateway to a broad network of innovative and specialised companies while reinforcing its role as a meeting point for universities, businesses, and professionals in the fields of engineering, consultancy, and technology.

The partnership between AGEINCO and the University of A Coruña will continue building bridges between knowledge and industry, creating new professional opportunities and contributing to Galicia’s economic, technological, and social development.
