AGEINCO at the 2025 Galicia Medals presentation, a gesture of cooperation and tradition

On July 24, 2025, AGEINCO had the honor of attending the 2025 Galicia Gold Medals award ceremony, organized by the Xunta de Galicia at the Gaiás Centre Museum in Santiago de Compostela. President Javier Alonso Seoane and Secretary General Marta Gallego Ramos represented AGEINCO at the event.

The ceremony was presided over by the current President of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda Valenzuela, who personally presented the awards, and was attended by former president Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of the opposition, along with numerous political and institutional authorities, and representatives from the business and cultural sectors.

2025 Galicia Gold Medals

The recipients of the Galicia Gold Medal were:

  • Her Royal Highness the Princess of Asturias, Doña Leonor de Borbón y Ortiz: received the distinction on July 14, in recognition of her ties to Galicia through her training at the Naval Academy of Marín, where she also spoke in Galician.

  • Rui Moreira, Mayor of Porto.

  • Ricardo Rio, Mayor of Braga.

In his speech, President Rueda emphasized that these awards reflect the deep bond between Galicia and northern Portugal, highlighting a shared history that has fostered understanding, collaboration, and fraternity between both regions. He also called for improvements to the Atlantic Corridor rail connections and stressed the need to strengthen strategic cross-border cooperation.
