Last Monday, December 16, we celebrated the closing of the 2024 Tribune cycle, the Tribune lunch with the Councilor of the Presidency, Justice and Sports, Diego Calvo Pouso.
From the engineering point of view, we were very interested in their vision of sports infrastructure and the area of the General Directorate of Mobility, which exercises the functions of promoting, managing and coordinating policies in the areas of planning, financing and transportation planning. Specifically, it covers transportation services and infrastructure in the community, as well as research on transportation, logistics and mobility.
At lunch, emphasis was placed on the urgency for the central government to advance the mobility projects committed to Galicia, such as the Galicia-Portugal AVE and the Atlantic Corridor, among others.
During his speech, the councilor underlined the Xunta’s commitment to mobility, mentioning tools such as the Galician Mobility Strategy and various initiatives to improve bus stops, shelters, park and ride facilities and pedestrian paths, among other aspects. He also highlighted the importance of promoting public works, promoting sports and administrative infrastructure, both at the regional and municipal levels, through different aid programs, including judicial ones.
According to Diego Calvo, professionals from different engineering fields are fundamental for economic and social development, and are considered strategic allies of the administrations in the implementation of key projects related to infrastructure, environmental quality and technology.
